ROUND VALLEY RESERVOIR PROGRESS UPDATE: 04/20/18
The Authority began its pumping season on April 13, 2018 and intends to pump water into Round Valley Reservoir through June 2018. The amount of water pumped and the termination of the pumping season will be determined based on the availability of water in the South Branch of the Raritan River. The reservoir will not be filled to capacity this year. The Authority continues to balance the needs of the State’s water supply, recreational use, and the upcoming rehabilitation construction project.
The Authority is in the process of reviewing design documents for the first two components of the Round Valley Project, which are the abutment grouting at the North Dam and South Dam, and the dredging of the in-water channel at the South Dam. More information about those projects, including a more specific timeline, will be posted here as soon as the reviews are complete and the projects are scheduled for construction.
